FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
About Neki Together & Relief for Punjab
What is Neki Together and how is Relief for Punjab connected?
Neki Together is a not-for-profit organization focused on community support and rebuilding efforts.
Relief for Punjab is one of our social initiatives, created specifically to help families affected by
the floods in Punjab. It is our way of ensuring that urgent relief and long-term rebuilding reach
those who need it most.
Are you a registered not-for-profit organization?
Yes. Neki Together is structured as a not-for-profit organization. This means that all contributions
are directed towards our mission — supporting affected families, funding relief operations, and
sustaining outreach so that our initiatives can continue to grow responsibly.
What does it mean to be a not-for-profit?
Being a not-for-profit means that our goal is impact, not profit. Any surplus funds are reinvested
into our initiatives — like Relief for Punjab — to expand reach, strengthen relief delivery, and
ensure ongoing transparency and accountability.
Why focus on Punjab?
Punjab has been heavily impacted by floods in recent years, leaving families displaced and livelihoods destroyed.
We launched Relief for Punjab to stand with these communities and provide both urgent aid and support
for long-term rebuilding. Punjab is our starting point, but our vision is broader community relief
wherever need arises.
Contributions & Payments
How are contributions processed?
All contributions are processed through secure, encrypted checkout systems provided by Shopify and
trusted payment partners. You will receive an email receipt immediately after every successful contribution.
Are contributions tax-deductible?
Not at this time. While we are a not-for-profit organization, we do not currently issue charitable tax receipts.
Contributions are used directly to fund relief and rebuilding efforts.
Can I request a refund after contributing?
Because funds are quickly allocated to families and relief projects, contributions are final and
non-refundable. This ensures that resources can be used immediately where they are most needed.
Do you accept international contributions?
Yes. We welcome contributions from supporters around the world. Payments are automatically converted
to your local currency when possible, ensuring a smooth and secure process.
Can I set up monthly contributions?
Yes. We are in the process of launching recurring contribution options so that supporters can give
consistently and help us plan long-term relief and rebuilding projects.
Use of Funds
How are my contributions used?
Contributions are allocated to urgent relief (such as food kits, shelter support, and essentials)
as well as long-term rebuilding projects like restoring homes, schools, and livelihoods.
A portion also supports the coordination, logistics, and outreach that make these efforts possible.
Do all contributions go directly to flood-affected families?
A large portion of contributions directly benefit families through cash aid, essentials, or rebuilding.
At the same time, some resources must support operations, transport, and communication to make sure
relief is delivered effectively and transparently.
Do you provide financial transparency?
Yes. While we are not legally required to publish audited charity reports, we are committed to transparency.
We share updates, stories, and progress reports on how contributions are being used to rebuild Punjab.
Aid & Impact
When do families in Punjab receive support?
Aid is provided as soon as funds are available and conditions allow safe delivery.
This can mean immediate food and essentials during disasters, followed by long-term
rebuilding once floodwaters recede.
Who benefits from Relief for Punjab?
Families and communities whose homes, crops, and livelihoods have been damaged by floods
are prioritized. We work with local partners and coordinators to ensure that aid reaches
the most affected households first.
Do you also support health or agriculture recovery?
Yes. Depending on resources, contributions may also support health kits, medical essentials,
crop recovery, and livestock survival — all critical to restoring life after floods.
Will you continue to help after the media stops covering the floods?
Absolutely. Relief for Punjab was created to provide long-term support.
We remain present long after the headlines fade, ensuring families are not forgotten
once public attention shifts.
Transparency & Legal Position
What laws govern Neki Together?
Neki Together is registered and operates under Canadian not-for-profit laws.
We comply with all relevant tax and legal requirements while remaining focused
on community support and relief.
Can contributors hold you accountable?
Yes. We are committed to transparency and accountability.
While contributions are non-refundable, supporters can always reach out to us
for updates, questions, or clarification on ongoing projects.
Why do you use the word “contribute” instead of “donate”?
We use “contribute” because we are a not-for-profit social initiative, not a registered charity.
While the spirit is the same — supporting communities in need — we want to use language that
reflects our exact legal structure.
Do you issue receipts?
Yes. Every supporter receives a digital receipt confirming their contribution.
At this time, these receipts are for record purposes only and cannot be used
for tax deductions.
Future Plans
Will Neki Together expand beyond Punjab?
Yes. While Punjab is our current focus, Neki Together’s mission is broader.
In the future, we may extend support to other communities and regions facing
similar disasters and hardships.
What are your long-term goals?
Our long-term goal is to build a strong, sustainable platform for community relief.
This includes ongoing support for Punjab, expanding to new initiatives, and ensuring
that vulnerable families always have a support system during times of crisis.
Could contributions be saved for future use?
Yes. If immediate conditions don’t allow for safe delivery, contributions may be
held and applied later when they can create maximum impact — such as during
rebuilding phases or in future flood relief cycles.
